Meet Carmen
Hi there – I’m Carmen, a meditation teacher based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. From here, I travel all over the Netherlands and Europe to do what I love – teach the simple, effortless practice of Vedic Meditation.
My story

I was born in Bucharest, Romania and moved to Germany at the age of 8, where I spent most of my adult life, before relocating to the Netherlands in 2020 for love.
Like many of my students, I discovered Vedic Meditation during a challenging period in my life. While working as a freelance photographer in Berlin, I struggled with mental health issues and a crisis of meaning. Life felt like a repetitive cycle – no matter how much I achieved, it was never enough. I felt stuck and overwhelmed. After exploring various paths, I came across Vedic Meditation.
The consistent, daily practice of meditation gave me more than I could have hoped for. It didn’t take long to feel the transformative power of this simple technique. My anxiety and depression began to fade, and a deeper sense of fulfilment and meaning emerged – one that was no longer tied to external circumstances but arose from within. What once seemed like a cliché, “true happiness lies within,” became a reality I now experience every day.
Since then, I dedicated my life to teaching others how to meditate and to supporting them to keep meditating, so that they too can experience true transformation and expansion in their lives. If you are reading this and resonate with my story, know that personal change is possible – and it’s more easily available than you think. All it takes is the first step. Reach out, and let’s begin this journey together.
My training

I am a certified Vedic meditation teacher, fortunate to have undergone one of the most comprehensive teacher training programs available to date.
After two years of dedicated study of Vedic knowledge, I completed my training under the guidance of Thom Knoles.
In a secluded ashram at the foothills of the Himalayas, I underwent an intensive three-month program that included 14 hours of meditation daily. During this time, I was able to cultivate an in-depth understanding of meditation and the tradition from which it originates.
Upon graduation, I received the personal endorsement from the highest authority of the lineage, Swami Kailashanand Brahmachari, to teach in the name of the tradition.
Since graduating in 2020, I have continued to deepen my exploration of the Vedas – the ancient body of knowledge that forms the foundation of the meditation practice I teach.
What I love most about teaching meditation
- Empowering my students to find their own access to meditation
- Nurturing and expanding the community of Vedic meditators across Europe
- Witnessing the growth and transformation in my students’ lives
